Enclosure 2.

Minute by the Superintendent, Government Civil Hospital.

Copy.

Colonial Surgeon.

Herewith the tables required; from these it will be seen that the greatest increase during 1889 was from Venereal Diseases.

There was a slight increase in the Malarial cases, those however who were attacked by Remittent Fever in 1889 suffered from a much more malignant type than is generally experienced here. I drew attention to this in my Report for 1889. Nearly all the severe cases were incurred whilst the Police were on night duty.

Lof. I M. Atkinson.

Superintendent.

September 26th 4/1890.
